Hello everyone. Dr. Nathalie Beauchamp here. Welcome to Empowering Women in Chiropractic, and today I wanna talk about social proof and how to get good reviews for your practice and turn patient into advocates. And we want to create raving fan in our practice. So let's go to the first slide.

Perfect. Awesome. So why social proof matters? I think we've all done this, that you're in a new city, you're looking for a restaurant, what do you do? First you go check out the review. So it's been said that 92% of cus consumer read online review before choosing a provider. And I've seen it because I've been in practice long enough that I don't think we even had emails back then, but.

People will tell me that they've gone on our website and they looked us up, meaning they're reviewed, they look at what, or, we stand for the services. So I love the fact that people are doing this because I think we're gonna attract the people that we really want in our practice, and that's a good reminder to make sure that our website reflects the type of patient we want to serve.

More reviews equal more trust. More booked appointment as well as on. And as I mentioned, people are looking us up and now it even goes next level. I was talking to our daughter last week and she's 35 and she said she checks review, but now she even goes on social media and Instagram and Facebook and look at their social.

So things have changed and we do need. To, stay with it in term of having a social media as well. That is also supporting our practice and giving an insight on what we're doing in our clinics and also for the social proof as well. That it is a good clinic, a cool clinic and that we are staying on top of everything.

So the power of patient review, people obviously will trust other people more than ads. It is so true. High quality review can really help, and I'll talk about how I craft a discussion with patients when, I ask them to share their success story and the reviews can really. Influence perception and credibility.

And this is huge. Like even us, if you're, dentist just retired and you need to go look up for a new dentist, you are going to read the reviews and to see what other people are saying. So how to get more review consistently. I think this is something that should be top of mind, especially when you're having discussion with your patient and they are telling you, how much better they feel with this and that.

And the other thing, and this is something that. I will discuss to say, Hey, you've had great results with, plugin, X, Y, Z, and I'd say, this is not something that typically people come to the chiropractor for. If you feel so inclined, would you mind sharing your experience at the clinic and what it's done to your health?

And I'll explain later what I do with that. So it's truly. Also setting the stage to have reviews that are beyond the neck pain and the back pain that we're more well known for. Fortunately, and unfortunately during re-exam is a great time to do this. When you're going over the questionnaire and the improvement that they've seen it's a great place to have the conversation of what else have the.

Felt in term of difference, not just symptom relief. So those questionnaires are also really good for that. And like I said if someone, and I tell my staff, someone's at the front and they're just, bragging and raving how much better they feel, I'm like, ladies. Let's ask them to share their story and then some people don't feel comfortable, that's fine.

But I'm sure they are sharing with their friends and family as well. So use simple and automated system. We do have, and I'll show you in a second what it looks like, but 8.5 by 11 sheet. And it says. Something about enjoying your experience. And we have a QR code and it goes directly to our Google Review page.

We don't do so much Facebook. We used to, but again, it's something else that you can consider. A lot of system now have a follow-up sequence of education that it is by email or by text. You could do a gentle nod about if they're satisfied with the services. To to leave a review.

And I know some of those automated system can also screen that. If you have a lower review, it gets to you first, and then you can deal with, the review itself to make sure you potentially phone the patient and ask them their reason for a lower review and so forth. The review cards.

I'll show you in a second what they are. They're like the business card size that we can give. So it's something tangible because I think most people have the best intention to do it, but they get home and they forget and they have the best intention, but they won't do it. Now, one thing that I have to pre-frame, and I think I forgot to mention, make sure that you check with your state and your province.

Before you do any of the stuff that I'm suggesting, because it is very different and I'm not talking about being pushy here and just asking people to share their experience. So that's that. This is a script too that my friend desk will use. John, you've been coming here for a while and we love having you.

Would you mind sharing your experience? It really helps others find the care that they need and we always position it. That it is our mission to help our community to be healthy. So by doing this, you're just helping the community at large. So it's just a matter of how we preferring all this. So turning reviews into referral this again, I'm stating here, state and provincial legislation need to be taken in consideration, but you can post your, some reviews on social media.

You don't necessarily have to hide the name, but I find that it's nice for people to see. Oh, I didn't know chiropractic could help with that. You could include them in your newsletter as success story. Again, you don't have to necessarily and I wouldn't suggest putting the name of the patient offer review, appreciation, raffle again, if it is allowed.

You're not trying to solicitate hardcore review and so forth, but it's just. A patient may not even think of doing this and word of mouth, this is something that I always do and I have done for 27 years. We might be well automated with text and email, but a good old handwritten thank you card mail to the patient who referred is always appreciated and recognizing and celebrating when patient refer, next visit.

John, thank you so much for referring your friend. Jill, amazing that you've done. So we really hope to be able to do a lot for her and so forth. So just acknowledging people love to help. They love to help their friends and family. So by saying something about it, you're just reinforcing the good action that they have done.

And then biggest mistake to avoid, I think we're all guilty of it. Not asking enough. Patient won't do sometime. Unless you prompt them, it won't even cross their mind that they could do that. And I often give the example of the restaurant to them. It's you go to restaurant, there's no reviews or barely any reviews.

Or you go to restaurant or parking lot is empty. You're not gonna be too inclined to go there making it complicated. Always is a big mistake. So always provide the direct link to your Google review page and another one too. And it's funny because I was just reading an article just sent to association of Chiropractor and ignoring bad reviews.

And we do again, it depa depends on your state and your province. But, if all this good thanking a person for review, but it's not the time to get into an argument with someone who posted a bad review. It's frustrating as heck. And sometime it's even happened that the person is not even a patient.

So again, if it's not professional. To get into a debate and so forth, just acknowledge and try to take, the complaint offline. Again, this is not legal advice, but just common sense. And I would also suggest if something is really negative and should be handled to always contact your malpractice insurance.

To figure out how you should handle that. So it's frustrating when it's even a mistake and when it's not, you definitely want to acknowledge and take the proper step. So this is a bit of a snapshot or a picture of what I have at the office. So happy with your chiropractic experience in clinic experience.

Leave us some love share and then this. A little bit card that's the size of a business card and the QR code is on that. So it's easy, they take it. And another thing that I've done with my team is set out goals for the month To have five, 10 reviews is just about. Bringing awareness that it would be helpful for your practice to do that.

Create a patient appreciation strategy for referral and reviews. This could be, different ways of doing this, but it's engaging the fact that your mission is to help people in to your, in your community. So by doing that, they are really helping you. So reviews aren't just about marketing. They reflect your impact on patient's life.

So start today and watch your review grow. I know this is something that I'm myself very proud of what we've done throughout the years at the clinic, and it's always nice to really stand out. With, your other chiropractors when there's great reviews that have been written. So it's and sometime patients will write almost a page of their experience.

So imagine how inspiring it can be, even for you to read and give you, give yourself a bit of a pat on the back, but also for other patients to read. Thank you so much for watching this show on empowering women in chiropractic. I hope this gave you a good, you, you might be doing all of those things, but sometime we don't.

We're not really consistent. So maybe this is bringing this topic to the forefront and something that you can discuss with your staff as well and engage them. So again, thank you for watching. This was Dr. Nathalie Boha for Empowering Women in Chiropractic, brought to you by ChiroSecure.
